The information on this sub-section of my site is VERY old. It does not reflect the American release of Zoids, with the anime being shown on the Cartoon Network. Nor does it list all the new models of Zoids that have been released in the last year. I will update this soon. My apologies.

New Zoids has been the dream of Zoiders since the early Nineties, when the last new Zoid design was released. Since then we have endured two re-releases of old designs, the decent but limited Techno Zoids and the horrible Zoids2. In the end our patience and support paid off, and in 1999 Tomy released a large number of Zoids. The joy didn't end there. We are about to witness the first new Zoid designs in almost a decade!
To add to our elation Tomy has also created an anime series to go with our Zoids. Many have suggested to me that Zoids would have enjoyed greater success if there had been a series to go with them. Witness Zoids success in England, where a comic book series was released. While I personally enjoy my Zoids with my own imagined "back story" I can understand the importance an anime can have in supporting a toy line.
This sub section of my web site is dedicated to the new Zoids and their anime. Here you will find images of the new Zoids, links to places to buy them, and my very crude screen captures of the anime series. It would not have been possible without Mr. Aki Yoshida, Furball, and the many others who have contacted me over the last year. Let me know what you think!

I first learned about the new Zoids and the accompanying series when I received an e-mail from Mr. Yoshida. That e-mail, quoted below, outlined the plot line of the manga and first episode of the anime. The series is created with a mix of computer and traditional animation styles. For those who want to see what the new manga looks like, Mr. Yoshida has provided this link for you.

Using a Sony Mavica digital camera that can record MPEG movies as well, I made these movies. The first two are of the opening of the anime series. It is divided in two due to the limited storage space on a floppy disk. The third movie is of a Zoid commercial. All are extremely crude. I hope soon to have a proper video capture card for my PC and I will then make proper movies. Meanwhile I hope these give you an idea of what the series looks like.

Here is the e-mail Mr. Yoshida sent to me that provides the plot of the manga and anime.

Zoids will be back in July in Japan.



TOMY and The COROCORO Magazine (most popular in JP for

6 to 12 years old) Presents new Zoids story and

already have started serial story manga in COROCORO.



The story is....



There is a planet Zi.

There is a boy named Ban, who has father has been dead for ten years

and he was a warrior as his Zoids ZEAK pilot, went to desert with his

antigravity bird as usual.



Suddenly, a ownerless Guysack appeared and tried to strike Ban.

Ban and a Guysack chased and chased, and finally Ban escaped into

ruins.



The ruins, he has been there many times, but this time he

finally has found hidden area and noticed there was a capsule inside

of the hidden area.



He came up to the capsule carefully and look inside of it,

he saw a small child Zoid, at that moment, child zoids-dino type

was born from the capsule.



After a few minutes from the event, guy sack at last found BAN

and tried to strike him! But this time Child Zoid and BAN

strike back Guysack.



Out side of ruins, one person was looking at Ban and his Zoids.

And his side, there was a silhouette of his dark Zoids...



Ban finally found his companion Zoids, and his story has begun.





This is a vol. 1 story of COROCORO magazine.



And color pages there are photos Iron Kong Mk2 and Gozyurus Mk2.

But items will be on sale still unknown.



There going to be held Hobby show in Tokyo in this mid May,

TOMY is going to be show New ZOIDS WORLD!!



Yes, it rumored that TOMY will be show a brand new model of ZOIDS

with old reissue model. And at last our dream comes true.
