Techno Zoids

It was Techno Zoids that rekindled my interest in Zoids. I found them on the shelves of a Walmart back in 1996. Soon my then girlfriend and I were going nuts, make trips to all the Walmarts, Toys R Us, and FAO Schwarz's in the New England area. We had discovered Techno Zoids just as they were being marked down and cleared from stock. Therefor these trips were hit or miss.
Techno Zoids are "repaints" of older Zoids. I say repaints, even though paint is not used in Zoids, they are simply different colors, and have new names. The decals remain the same. They are actually released by Kenner Toys, not Tomy. Please let me know if I missed any units.

Canadian Techno Zoids

The Techno Zoid plot got thicker when Mike Hogan e-mailed me the following pictures. Here are the Canadian Techno Zoids that I had long heard about but had never seen. Released in Canada by Irwin Toys, not Kenner or Tomy, they appear to be repackaged Zoid2's.

[Canadian Claw]
[Canadian Sabre]
[Canadian Zoidzilla]
I just spent some time at Rob Moore's "Zoids2: Monster Machines That Stalk the Earth" to double check myself. All three of these Techno Zoids conform directly to their Zoid2 counterparts. Mike reports that the chrome paint job on Zoidzilla was very poor, with parts being missed. He simply repainted his altogether.

[Canadian Dragonfly]
Unlike it's Zoid2 version, Redwing, this Techno Zoid does not appear to have any stickers at all. Also, it's hard to tell, but it's head and tail do not appear to have that shiny "chrome" finish that Redwing has.

[Canadian Storm Tiger]
There is, of course, no Zoid2 Storm Tiger. This is the Techno Zoid Storm Tiger, complete with original series decals.

That still leaves these rumored Canadian Techno Zoids unaccounted for. Please e-mail me if you have any more info or scans of these fabled units.

Naturally I'm interested in any scans of these that anyone might have.
